The cockle is one of the most prized molluscs within the seafood of the Costa da Morte and in the town of Baldaio they celebrate it with a gastronomic festival in its honor and at its height. In it you can not only taste this delicacy in its various ways of preparation (steamed, in sauce or in empanada), you can also accompany it with a good Galician wine and live music.

The cockle festival is held in Baldaio every third Saturday of August from 12:00 until late at night.
