This first day began with a working meeting with representatives of the Jata-Ondo association (Ion Gorka Elgezabal, president and mayor of Laukiz; Jokin Etxebarria, manager; and Jagoba Martínez, technician), who shared with CMAT’s Board of Directors their tourism programs and the operational management of their destination.
Afterwards, the Jata-Ondo hosts and institutional representatives accompanied the CMAT delegation to present their geological project of the Flysch of Bizkaia, in Barrika and Sopela (with the participation of Eder García, councillor for economic promotion and tourism in Sopela).
In the afternoon, the visits continued with other initiatives such as the Landetxo Goikoa farmhouse in Mungia (with a presentation by the mayor, Alaitz Erkoreka, and deputy mayor, Nagore Torre) and the Mustai Ortua agricultural farm in Maruri-Jatabe (alongside mayor Erlantz Urresti).
A highly enriching first day to discover what is working in other territories similar to Costa da Morte and gather ideas that can be applied locally.
