The event began with a welcome from the president of CMAT and mayor of Zas, Manuel Muiño, who emphasized the importance of continuing this project for Costa da Morte and thanked the Xunta and the Provincial Council for their collaboration with the territory. Speeches followed from Carmen Pita, Director of Promotion at the Galicia Tourism Agency; Xosé Luis Penas, Provincial Deputy of Heritage; and Cesáreo Pardal, President of the Galicia Tourism Cluster. All highlighted the importance of networked collaboration between public administrations and private tourism sector entities to strengthen the destination’s competitiveness and sustainability.

The SICTED project, driven by Spain’s Secretary of State for Tourism, aims to enhance the tourist experience by applying common quality standards across the entire destination. In Costa da Morte, this initiative is coordinated by CMAT, participating municipalities, and the Costa da Morte Tourism Professionals Association (APTCM), with the support of the A Coruña Provincial Council.

Before the certificate ceremony, Emilio Cuiñas, director of Autoxiro and SICTED consultant, acknowledged the efforts of business owners who completed the training last year and presented the timeline for SICTED Costa da Morte’s 2025 planning.

Finally, Pepe Formoso, president of APTCM, closed the event with a speech highlighting the joint effort and collaboration of the private sector as a driving force for promoting the tourism value of Costa da Morte.
