CMAT has chosen the Parador Costa da Morte, in Muxía, as the venue for the 6th Costa da Morte Tourism Meeting, which will take place on 17 November, five years after this same venue hosted the first edition of the event. The meeting is funded by the Galician Tourism Agency and supported by A Coruña Provincial Council.
The return to Muxía has special significance for an initiative that, since that first meeting held in 2021, has grown in participation, scope and impact to become one of the key dates in the region’s tourism calendar. At that first edition, the meeting was taking its first steps and was still far from the scale it has achieved today, but it was precisely at the Parador that the foundations were laid for an event that, five years later, is now firmly established.
The choice of this venue, from among the proposals received to host this edition, thus makes it possible to return to the starting point and put the journey so far into perspective, at a meeting that will once again bring together public- and private-sector representatives involved in tourism in Costa da Morte.
The 6th Meeting will also provide a space to share the work carried out by CMAT over the past year, present new proposals and address the challenges and opportunities facing the tourism destination, strengthening cooperation among the different stakeholders working for its development.

The meeting will also include the presentation of the 4th Costa da Morte Ambassador Award, with which CMAT recognises people who help raise the region’s profile and promote its identity and values beyond its borders. In previous editions, the award went to Bieito Romero, a founding member of Luar na Lubre; Jorge Mira, Professor of Applied Physics at the University of Santiago de Compostela; and Marta Lado, an actress and creative artist from Fisterra with an outstanding career in Galician film and theatre. The name of the person who will receive the award at this sixth edition will be announced soon.
This year, CMAT will also introduce a collective recognition for social inclusion organisations working in the region, in appreciation of their work to help ensure that everyone can enjoy the resources, experiences and treasures that Costa da Morte has to offer.
A meeting that grows with the region
Since that first meeting at the Parador Costa da Morte in 2021, the initiative has visited Costa Caión, in A Laracha; the Torre de Laxe; the Pazo de Trasariz, in Vimianzo; and the Pazo de Villar de Francos, in Carballo. Each edition has helped bring the meeting to different parts of Costa da Morte while strengthening the links between the public- and private-sector stakeholders who form part of the destination.
The meeting will thus turn the Parador Costa da Morte into a place to celebrate the journey so far, recognise the work being done in the region and continue shaping the future of tourism in Costa da Morte together.
