ZAS, 03/06/2024. The Costa da Morte Tourism Association (CMAT) is organising, with the collaboration of the Cabana de Bergantiños Town Council and the support of the Deputación of A Coruña, an information day to raise awareness of the problem of light pollution. The event will be held between 19:30 and 21:00 on Wednesday 12 June at the Dombate Dolmen Interpretation Centre in Cabana de Bergantiños.

Presentations, case studies and round table

The event will include different presentations to contextualise the problem and present practical cases of measures that can help to reduce light pollution. During the event, renowned people in the field will participate, such as Susana Malón, CEO of Lumínica Ambiental; Jorge Mira, Professor of Applied Physics at the USC; and Jesús Andrés Castellot, Head of Energy Services at the company Ingesan.

To end the day, there will be a round table on the opportunities that Astrotourism offers for the Costa da Morte as a Starlight Destination, with the participation of Jorge Mira himself; Marta Rodríguez, from the Technical Secretariat of the CMAT and José Muíño, Mayor of Cabana de Bergantiños.
At the end of the day, there will be a small cocktail that will serve as a space for the exchange of ideas between attendees and participants.

Astrotourism, a great opportunity for the Costa da Morte

This event, organised for mayors and personnel invited by the town councils, is part of an important year for the Costa da Morte as a Starlight Destination, as it will be the venue for the 7th International Starlight Meeting organised by the Starlight Foundation.
