Summer has finally started in Costa da Morte. A time of the year when many people decide to visit this fantastic territory to enjoy their holidays. To make the summer time more enjoyable, we want to share some of the summer activities in Costa da Morte that the 17 municipalities of the geodestination have prepared for the months of July, August and September. Let’s go?

Summer Activities in Costa da Morte 2024

A Laracha

A Laracha has an epicentre during the summer: Caión. This village enters the Atlantic in a unique way and has a perfect beach for summer days. The exhibition “Auga, o sangue da Terra” (Water, the blood of the earth) is currently on display at the Community Centre in Caión. But this municipality also has lesser known but equally impressive places, such as the Santa Marta viewpoint, perfect if you like to see the stars at night.

Cabana de Bergantiños

In Cabana de Bergantiños the summer is also full of culture, with events such as the “Concerts with charm” and “Castro animado” in Borneiro or the traditional Foliada Farrapeira of Cesullas. There will also be time for dramatised visits to the Dolmen of Dombate with the Quinquilláns and guided night visits. https://www.visitacostadamorte.com/en/diary/veran-cultural-cabana-2024-en

From the fiestas of Socorro de Vilastose Senande, Carmen de Moraime and Muxía in July, to the 16th Rutas do Mar Market in August. But if there is one festival we cannot forget in Muxía, it is the one that closes the summer: the pilgrimage of the Virgen de la Barca, which normally takes place on the second Sunday in September, but this year, as this Sunday falls on the 8th, it has been moved to the 15th. As the saying goes: “The pilgrimage of La Barca does not go below the ninth and does not go above the fifteenth”.
