The 5th Mystery Stories on the Camino Competition – Territorio Vákner invites writers to turn the landscapes, legends and atmosphere of the Camino de Fisterra and Muxía into fiction. The competition is open to participants aged 16 and over and entries may be submitted from anywhere.
The call is for original stories written in Galician in which mystery, fear and the figure of the Vákner meet the world of the Camino. It is an invitation to reinterpret one of the most distinctive legends linked to Dumbría and the final stretch of the pilgrimage route through a contemporary, personal voice.
Entries are accepted until 20 October 2026. Stories must be between 4,000 and 6,000 characters including spaces, identified with a motto and pseudonym, and accompanied by a sealed envelope containing the author’s details.
Entries must be delivered to the La Voz de Galicia office in Carballo at Rúa Gran Vía, 84, 1st floor, 15100 Carballo. Further information about the competition is available from La Voz de Galicia.
The first prize is €2,000 and the second prize is €1,000. The authors of the three stories selected by the jury will also receive a diploma and an exclusive commemorative piece created for this literary call.
The competition is organised by Radio Voz and La Voz de Galicia, with sponsorship from Dumbría Council, as part of the Territorio Vákner project.
