Find out more about Church of San Vicenzo de Duio in Fisterra

The parish church of San Vicenzo de Duio stands close to an ancient hillfort. Dating from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, this Baroque building reflects the long history of its local community.

Inside is a four-bay nave and a spacious rectangular chancel. Its bell gable was built in 1863, and the main chapel contains a large altarpiece with an image of Saint Vincent, the parish patron.

The building witnessed difficult times: it was looted during the Napoleonic invasion, and a fire destroyed the parish archives. It is one of the places where the heritage of Fisterra tells a story beyond the coast itself.
