The parish church of San Xoán de Sardiñeiro combines Baroque and Neoclassical features shaped by alterations between the eighteenth and twentieth centuries. Thick walls enclose a single nave with three entrances.
Its Neoclassical façade retains Baroque window surrounds, and the bell gable was added in 1900. Earlier altarpieces were removed during renovations. Inside, notable features include a large twentieth-century crucifix from the Compostela school and an image of Saint John the Baptist, deeply venerated in this coastal area.
The church remains a familiar landmark in Sardiñeiro. It offers visitors a chance to appreciate the range of religious architecture found across Fisterra and the close ties between these buildings and local communities.
