Find out more about Pazo de Cotón in Cee

The Pazo de Cotón in Cee is a remarkable example of 18th-century Galician noble architecture, located in the heart of the town in Fonte Penín Square. Nestled between narrow streets and residential buildings, the pazo blends rural charm with urban elegance, embodying a unique architectural style in the Costa da Morte.

With a nearly square floor plan and a traditional three-slope tiled roof, the structure features a grand granite staircase leading to the noble floor, topped by a beautiful balustrade inspired by Compostela’s baroque style. The main façade has a stone-supported balcony, while another balcony can be seen on the side wall, made of irregular masonry. Decorative elements include gargoyles along the cornice, an anthropomorphic figure carved into the lintel, and a coat of arms that represents the lineages associated with the pazo: Leis, Bermúdez de Castro, Pardiñas, Rioboo, and Castro.

The Pazo de Cotón in Cee stands as an architectural and historical landmark, offering visitors a glimpse into the noble legacy and rich cultural heritage of this region in the Costa da Morte.
