Find out more about Lires estuary and Castro and Carbaliza rivers

The third estuary of the Costa da Morte, seen from north to south, is that of Lires. This is the smallest estuary in Galicia and has its ends at Lires beach and Punta da Barra, as well as two vertices located at the mouth of the Castro River and the small Regato de Carbaliza, both located in the surroundings of the town of Santo Estevan de Lires.

In the Lires estuary you can visit places such as Lires beach, a unique place due to its location at the apex of the estuary and whose landscape changes with each tide, in addition to the fact that in it you can enjoy one of the best environments in which to watch the sunset. You can also walk along the paths of the Laxes River and visit the Toba mills, and there is even space in the surroundings of this estuary for the more adventurous with the Descent do Bruño.
