The Department of Tourism of the County Council of A Coruña participates in the 20th International Gastronomic Tourism Show, Xantar, with a sample of the gastronomic richness of the city councils, its own space at the fair or the live cooking showcookings. The Vimianzo irmandiño skewers, the Mazaricos pot cake, the octopus mugardesa, the bread and the empanada de Carballo or the felpas from Zas are some of the products that make the territory of A Coruña a “gastronomic tourism reference”.

The County Council of A Coruña has an active presence in the International Gastronomic Tourism Show, Xantar, which this year marks its twentieth edition and, as in previous editions, from the Tourism area, it has been invited to the provincial councils to participate in the program and to be present there Own stand that will remain open from days 6 to 10 in which the fair is held.
 
Throughout the days, the area of ​​the Deputation of A Coruña will offer tasting of products of the councils as well as information about celebrations and gastronomic products. In addition, the program of showcooking -productions and live tastings- will host the preparation of Vimianzo Irmandiños skewers, the cake of the Mazaricos potato, or the octopus to the mugardesa, and the canned tastings, Roman tortilla or ceviche de raia de Muros-Noia, the bread and the empanada of Carballo or the cheese of the Chapel, among others.
 
“Xantar has become a privileged showcase of gastronomic tourism in which the presence of the city councils of A Coruña is already a benchmark in the sector,” said the Deputy of Tourism and Heritage, Xosé Regueira, for whom gastronomic wealth is “an important attraction for tourism and a call to visit us and know the territory “.
 
The County Council of A Coruña also gives information on the more than one hundred gastronomic celebrations that are celebrated in the eighteen districts of the province.
 
The Minister of Tourism, Xosé Regueira, emphasized that Xantar “represents an interesting opportunity to promote the gastronomic proposals of our councils” and stressed the impact of participation in the only fair of gastronomic tourism in Galicia that highlights “one of our tourist strengths that is the product of quality and the elaboration of our gastronomy that also bets in a different way to promote our tourist offer “.
 
The 20th International Gastronomic Tourism Show, Xantar, takes place in Ourense between February 6 and 10 and in the last editions it has exceeded twenty thousand visitors. In this edition, Brazil, and specifically Foz de Iguazú, where are the famous waterfalls and second destination chosen by tourism that reaches the Brazilian territory, is the guest country of Xantar.
