Camariñas prepares for a “Weekend of Shipwrecks” with gastronomic, cultural and tourist proposals

The City Council of Camariñas will live a weekend full of gastronomic, cultural and tourist proposals. From the 9th to the 11th of November the Week of Shipwrecks is celebrated, an event that aims to vindicate the history of the municipality through different activities. The central event will take place on Saturday, November 10, when the commemorative ceremony will be held for the 128th anniversary of the tragedy of the “HMS Serpent”, the Royal Navy cruise that sank in 1890 in the Horn of the Bull, leaving 173 victims. The Cemetery of the English will host, from 21 hours, a theater performance organized by the City Council in collaboration with the County Council of A Coruña and the Royal Naval League.

 

In addition, the residents and visitors of Camariñas will be able to enjoy throughout the weekend of a “Route of Tapas of the Shipwrecks” in which the 20 participating establishments will offer, for 1 euro, tapas related to a ship naufragado in particular. The Ría, Bar Playa, Bar Victoria, A Moleda, Belmar, O Pinar, Oasis, Las Vegas, Camariñas Confectionery, Taberna do Bico, Club Náutico, A Molinera, Paella Bar, Marítimo, Xunqueira Pizzeria, Pizzería Brasil, Casa Trabeiro, CunKcafe, La Tavernetta, Red Bar and O Ariño. For those who fill the coupon with stamps from 6 of the participating tapas, the Camariñas City Council will draw 210 euros in prizes. A first prize of 120 euros, a second of 60 euros and a third of 30 euros. In addition, all those who try the 6 tapas will receive a gift from a cap-visor. The hours to try the tapas of the route is from 12:00 to 2:30 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

On the other hand, there will be a series of theatrical representations and guided tours aimed at children and adults with a theme that revolves around the shipwrecks in Camariñas. On Friday 9, Bar Paella, the Blond of Camelle and Fernando Patricio will talk about shipwrecks in the area and At 9 pm there will be a theatricalisation of the shipwrecks in Camelle; On Saturday 10, at the Lonja de Camariñas will be the TVG program “Shipwreckers” and there will be a presentation by Bernardino Martínez, will be held Magosto in the Market Square. Finally, on Sunday 11 there will be a route with the exit of the Vilán Lighthouse to the Cemetery of the English and in the Plaza del Mercado a tent with animation for the children related to the shipwrecks will be installed.
