Plans to do in Cee

  • Plan 1: To AMEIXENDA: Do you dare to know the legends that this parish keeps? Caneliñas was home to the last whaling factory to close in Europe. Enjoy first the landscape of a magical enclave from the Mirador de Gures, bathing in the turquoise waters of Gures Beach, approaching the Church of Santiago de Ameixenda to contemplate the relic of the apostle Santiago that feeds the history of his presence on Mount Banle.
  • Plan 2: PEREIRIÑA: The ideal route to reach the first window to the sea from the moment pilgrims leave Compostela for Fisterra. Start this itinerary in an ethnographic exhibition such as the Morancelle Mills, go to the chapel of San Pedro Mártir and let yourself be healed in its miraculous fountain to cure ailments. Finally, walk to the Navy Cruiser, look at the inscriptions on its base, and gaze at the vastness of the sea with Cape Fisterra in the distance.
  • Plan 3: CEE: Learn about the history of the town that rose from its ashes through a route that begins at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of La Junquera, continues through the Fernando Blanco de Lema Museum, passes through the most emblematic buildings of the town (Casa de Otero Lastres, Casa Guillén, Casa Francisco Mayán, Casa Mosteirín, Casa Michinel, the Old Town Hall and one of the most emblematic buildings that we have in Cee, such as the Fernando Blanco Institute, cradle of education for an entire region since its inauguration in 1886), heading to a sample of the Compostela Baroque such as the Pazo de Cotón and ending at the Paseo Marítimo de Cee with its Playa de la Concha and the small fishing port.

  • Plan 4: TOBA: Have you ever seen seawater light up naturally? Start your journey through this parish by visiting the Church of San Adrián de Toba. Near it you will find its granary and the Toba Mills. Head towards Estorde and dare to pass through the Cave of the Moors. Further on, you will arrive at Estorde Beach. But be careful when night falls! If nature plays in your favor and you are patient, you may see one of the most sought-after natural spectacles by the curious: the bioluminescence of the Sea of Ardora.

  • Plan 5: LIRES: Would you like to get to know the immensity of nature in the smallest estuary in Galicia? We invite you to take a magical route: the Meigha Lirea Trail. Its route coincides on several occasions with the last section of the Camino de los Faros (which also crosses this parish to reach Cape Fisterra). It is a circular itinerary, lasting approximately 3 hours and 40 minutes, which starts from the Church of Santo Estevo and crosses the landscape from the mountain to the coast, until it meets the cliffs of Canosa and its Mexadoira or Mixirica waterfall. At the end of the route, we recommend you stay in Lires to enjoy one of the most desired sunsets from the smallest estuary in Galicia: the Ría de Lires.
  • Plan 6: BRENS: From Active Tourism to a sample of the Baroque. Would you dare to visit the Miñóns, its pools and waterfalls, and the historic mills of the parish canyoning? Well, Brens offers you this possibility of Active Tourism, inviting you to get to know this part of our municipality in a more dynamic and interactive way. But the charm of the parish does not end here. Also enjoy a free ethnographic route through the old meeting points of the local population, all of them related to fresh water. The three stops that make up this itinerary are: The Fountain-Washing Place of A Grixa, the Mill of Fadibón and the Fountain of Berroxe.

Last but not least, visit the Church of Santa Baia de Brens. Inside, the main altarpiece stands out, in which decorative elements such as plaques or stipites linked to the Compostela artists Simón Rodríguez y Casas y Novoa can be seen. In the niche located in the central panel of the main body, the image of Santa Eulalia (Santa Baia) presides over the scene with a silver crown, palm of martyrdom and book. This sculpture is one of the greatest landmarks of the Baroque that we preserve in the municipality.
