Coristanco will host two free blood pressure and blood glucose check days on 7 and 21 October 2026. The sessions are open to local residents and no prior appointment is required.
The activity will take place from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, in front of the Casa da Cultura de Coristanco and next to the health centre. In the event of rain, it will move indoors.
Attendees will be able to have their blood pressure and blood glucose levels checked free of charge. They will also receive information focused on prevention, healthy habits and the importance of regular health checks.
The initiative is organised by students specialising in social and healthcare support for dependent people in social institutions as part of the Obradoiro Dual de Emprego Lubiáns II, jointly promoted by the councils of Coristanco and Carballo.
The sessions also coincide with the October launch of VIVE, Coristanco Council’s active ageing programme, which aims to promote active, healthy, autonomous and participatory ageing.
