Less Dragqueens and more Chunorris!, by ALÓproducións in co-production with the Centro Dramático Galego, comes to Vimianzo with a comedy that uses humour, circus and variety-show language to question inherited ideas of masculinity and the contradictions of macho culture.
Alberte Bello and Dani Blanco expose themselves both physically and symbolically on stage, exploring vulnerability, affection, violence, gender codes and social pressure. Rather than preaching, the production relies on irony, absurdity and tenderness to challenge stereotypes and open up questions.
Directed and dramaturged by Afonso Becerra de Becerreá, the show moves between comedy and performance. Its strength lies in turning a complex social issue into a vivid theatrical experience: approachable, provocative and funny, while still leaving room to recognise learned behaviours and expectations.
