Las gratitudes, by Producciones Teatrales Contemporáneas, comes to FIOT 2026 in Carballo as part of the Programa de Sala and in its Galician premiere. This stage adaptation of Delphine de Vigan’s novel offers an intimate reflection on memory, the loss of language and the urgency of saying what matters before it is too late.
Michka is beginning to lose language because of aphasia. Around her, Marie and Jérôme try to support her while she holds on to one unfinished wish: to find the people who saved her during the war and thank them. From there, the play unfolds as a delicate exploration of care, vulnerability, emotional debt and the place words hold in our relationships.
The production avoids easy sentiment and relies on finely judged performances to create a restrained but powerful emotional world. Memory becomes unstable, language resists, and every gesture and sentence takes on added weight.
Directed by Juan Carlos Fisher and adapted by Marta Betoldi, Las gratitudes stars Gloria Muñoz, Macarena Sanz and Rómulo Assereto. The performance takes place on Saturday 10 October 2026 at 8:00 pm at the Auditorio Pazo da Cultura in Carballo.
