Muxía will hold its 2026 celebrations in honour of the Virxe da Barca in September, with a religious programme closely connected to the town and its sanctuary overlooking the Atlantic. The schedule includes the novena, feast-day Masses, processions and special services from 3 to 20 September.
The main days will be Domingo da Barca on 13 September and Luns da Barca on 14 September, featuring solemn Masses and processions that form an important part of Muxía’s local religious tradition.
The novena will take place from Thursday 3 to Friday 11 September. Services will be held at 9:00 am and 7:00 pm, with the novena and rosary beginning half an hour beforehand.
On Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September, Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 noon, 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
Priests will be available for confession throughout the novena and feast. The programme offers visitors and worshippers the opportunity to experience the devotion to the Virxe da Barca through prayer, procession and the community traditions that return to Muxía each September.
