The Concello de Dumbría is marking Galician Literature Day with an experience that invites visitors to explore the area on foot. This hike along the Albarellos River, part of the Maio de Letras programme, offers a wonderful chance to discover the natural beauty, heritage and character of Berdeogas through an outdoor activity designed to be enjoyed at an easy, unhurried pace.
The route will take place on Saturday, May 17 and will follow a circular trail of moderate difficulty covering around 15 kilometres, starting and finishing in Berdeogas square. Along the way, participants will follow the course of the Albarellos River through beautiful landscapes and places that reflect Dumbría’s rich cultural and natural heritage. One of the highlights of the walk will be the views from Chan das Lagoas, where on clear days it is possible to enjoy sweeping panoramas over Costa da Morte and the Fervenza reservoir.
The hike will end in the oak grove of Berdeogas, in Devesa da Lúa, next to the parish church, the hillfort and the surrounding ethnographic complex. It is an ideal plan for anyone wishing to experience Dumbría in a more authentic, active and scenic way.
