Find out more about San Pedro Mártir Pilgrimage

In the parish of A Pereiriña, atop the mountain of Lobelos, the San Pedro Mártir Pilgrimage is held — one of the oldest and most meaningful religious festivals in the municipality of Cee. It takes place on the Sunday following Ascension Day, gathering pilgrims and locals in a celebration of faith, ritual, and history.

The small chapel, documented since the 16th century, is located near the “Miraculous Fountain”, believed to possess healing powers, particularly for skin and eye conditions. Tradition holds that washing children’s feet in its waters helped them walk earlier or recover from illness.

Many participants carry out the custom of rubbing the image of the saint on sore areas of the body to alleviate rheumatism or warts. This mountaintop site is also the first place pilgrims encounter in Cee on their way from Santiago to Fisterra, adding deep spiritual meaning to their journey.
