A very special camera

Anyone who approaches the Recesindes Mine is guaranteed surprise and not only because of the size of the mámoa (earth mound) of 25 meters in diameter, but also because of the hidden chamber. Its shape, polygonal, almost circular and with a corridor, is not very common in A Costa da Morte. But it is the placement of the dolmen’s six stone slabs that makes it exceptional, because they are magnificently worked to fit, with millimetric precision, without leaving any space between them. You can even see how they are regularized at the top to be able to perfectly place the lid, of which today there are no traces.

This monument is part of a megalithic necropolis of which two other burial mounds are preserved to the southwest, and two more were destroyed with the construction of the road that passes right next to the Mina.

There are reports of excavations carried out by treasure hunters during the Civil War, in 1936 in which, according to a neighbor, two stone axes and a pot were found.
