On Sunday, May 25th, the Baio Auditorium will host a special theatre event in tribute to Enrique Labarta, a Galician writer and playwright born in Baio, in the Concello de Zas, marking the 100th anniversary of his passing. Starting at 6:30 p.m., some of his most iconic plays will be performed, highlighting his literary and comedic legacy.
Students from CEIP Labarta Pose will perform three short plays: O tío Sanfona, A lingua pequena, and Falade Galego!. The evening will conclude with a performance by the Badius Theatre Group of Unha boa misa, offering a cultural celebration rooted in local memory.
Organised by the Concello de Zas as part of the “Centenario Labarta 1925–2025” programme, this event is a great opportunity to rediscover the work of a writer who drew deep inspiration from his hometown.
