What can Galicia’s night sky reveal when we explore it through science, photography and immersive technology? On Friday, 23 October 2026, the Mercado Cultural in Fisterra hosts CEO no CAMIÑO, a free astronomy experience that brings together the night sky, the Camino de Santiago and the excitement of discovering the universe.
Supported locally by Fisterra Town Council as part of the Xunta de Galicia’s O Teu Xacobeo programme, the event celebrates the region’s astronomical heritage. As a recognised Starlight Tourist Destination, Fisterra offers a compelling setting in which to explore the value of natural darkness and the importance of protecting our night skies.
Visitors can enjoy an astrophotography exhibition, a short documentary, an accessible talk about Galicia’s sky, a 360-degree virtual reality experience and a portable planetarium session. Together, these activities reveal new ways of looking at stars, celestial phenomena and the landscapes along the Camino de Santiago.
Date: Friday, 23 October 2026.
Time: 6:00–9:00 pm.
Venue: Mercado Cultural de Fisterra, A Coruña, Galicia.
Admission: free.
Audience: open to all ages, including families, pilgrims, visitors and anyone curious about astronomy.
Fisterra is famous for its Atlantic horizon, but this evening invites you to look in another direction: up, towards the remarkable night sky above the Costa da Morte.
