Os fíos da memoria by aAntena Teatro brings a community-based stage creation to the Auditorio de Vimianzo, developed together with lace-makers from Camariñas and Vimianzo. Lace-making, traditional songs, narration, movement, voices and memory are woven together to turn inherited knowledge into living performance.
The work centres on the women who have preserved and passed on bobbin-lace traditions across generations. Rather than presenting heritage as something fixed, it recovers gestures, working rhythms, personal memories and lived experience, asking how cultural memory survives when it is handed from one pair of hands to another.
Os fíos da memoria is linked to CUIDANTAS, a collection devoted to the living memory of women from the Costa da Morte, and incorporates testimony and interviews gathered in the area. The result sits between documentary theatre, community creation and the celebration of an intangible heritage deeply connected to local identity.
