I Cross Concello de Carballo 2026: 5K cross-country race

The inaugural I Cross Concello de Carballo takes place on Saturday, 7 November 2026 at 4:45 pm in the green area of Bértoa Industrial Estate, Carballo, Galicia. Organised by Carballo Town Council, this official regional 5 km cross-country race is overseen by the Galician Athletics Federation and brings a new running event to the Costa da Morte area.

5K course and race format

Runners will complete five laps of an approximately 1 km circuit, covering 5,000 metres in total. The race has a 45-minute time limit and a maximum field of 500 competitors, offering an opportunity to experience cross-country running in Carballo.

Registration, fees and age groups

Register through CCNorte by 11:59 pm on 4 November, unless all 500 places are filled earlier. Entry costs €3 for senior and masters runners; under-18 entry is free.

• Under-18: born in 2009, 2010 or 2011.
• Senior: born between 1992 and 2008.
• Masters: born in 1991 or earlier.
• Athletes with disabilities: participation arrangements according to individual needs and the organisers’ guidance.

Depending on entries, a separate under-16 classification may be introduced for runners born in 2011.

Bib collection, timing and awards

Chip timing and official judging will be provided. Race bibs and timing chips can be collected at the Vila de Noia sports complex on Friday 6 November from 10:00 am to 10:30 pm and Saturday 7 November from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, or at the race office until 30 minutes before the start. Valid identification is required.

Awards will recognise the top three men and women overall and in each category, as well as the leading men’s and women’s teams.
