The 6th Mystery Tales on the Camino School Competition – Territorio Vákner brings together literature, heritage and the Camino de Santiago in a creative call for school students. Participants are invited to write mystery stories inspired by the Vákner, a legendary figure closely connected with Dumbría and the Camino de Fisterra and Muxía.
The competition has two categories. The first is for pupils in 5th and 6th year of Primary School attending schools in municipalities along the Camino de Fisterra and Muxía. The second is for secondary-school students attending schools in those municipalities.
The call includes schools in Santiago, Ames, Negreira, Santa Comba, Mazaricos, Dumbría, Cee, Corcubión and Fisterra, as well as Carnota and Vimianzo in the cases established by the organisers.
Entries must be original, written in Galician and no longer than 1,500 characters including spaces. Mystery, fear, the Camino and the Vákner shape the creative theme of a competition designed to encourage imagination while introducing young writers to the intangible heritage of the Costa da Morte.
The deadline is 20 October 2026. Each school must send correctly identified entries by email to eventos.carballo@lavoz.es.

The school attended by the winner of each category will receive a €750 cash prize. The organisers will also recognise the three best entries in each category, with diplomas for the other selected participants.
The competition is organised by Radio Voz and La Voz de Galicia, with sponsorship from Dumbría Council, as part of the Territorio Vákner project.
