The Santo Tomé de Xaviña Neighbourhood Association is launching a new programme of activities in Xaviña, Coristanco, in October 2026. Designed for different ages and interests, the programme combines wellbeing, traditional Galician music and creativity through Pilates, tambourine classes and a crafts workshop at the Local Social de Xaviña community centre.
Places are limited to around 15 participants per group, and the organisers need to confirm the groups by 28 September. Early registration is recommended.
Pilates classes in Xaviña will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with two time slots: 9:30 am and 6:30 pm. The sessions are aimed at improving mobility, body control, strength and general wellbeing through regular guided practice.
The fee is €30 for association members and €35 for non-members.
Galician tambourine classes will be held on Saturday mornings. The adult group runs from 10:00 to 11:00 am, while the children’s group, for ages 6 and over, runs from 11:00 to 11:45 am.
The fee is €15 for members and €20 for non-members. Participants should bring their own tambourine. Classes begin on Saturday, 3 October.
The crafts workshop in Xaviña will take place on Monday afternoons from 4:00 to 6:00 pm and is intended for adults. If demand is high enough, a second group will be created from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.
The fee is €20 for members and €25 for non-members, with all materials included. The workshop begins on Monday, 5 October.
The programme is organised by the Santo Tomé de Xaviña Neighbourhood Association to create local opportunities for learning, exercise, traditional culture and community life. More local information is available on the official Coristanco Council website.
