Ninguén tira fotos nos enterros by Carlota e Compañía comes to FIOT 2026 in Carballo as part of the OTNI programme. The performance takes place on Thursday 1 October at 9:00 pm at Pazo da Cultura de Carballo.
This autofiction begins with an extraordinary yet deeply human event: a family holds a wedding and a funeral on the very same day. Through the photographs taken by an eleven-year-old girl, the piece opens a conversation about death from a child’s point of view, combining tenderness, humour and audience participation without resorting to easy solemnity.
Carlota e Compañía brings performance together with live photographic processes, turning family memory into stage material. Cyanotype and other visual techniques are not decorative effects but part of a dramaturgy that asks how memory is constructed and how we speak about what is difficult to name. The work returns to FIOT after being recognised in the festival’s M² competition in 2023.
