Find out more about 8M 2026 in Dumbría: Opening Paths in Equality

8M 2026 in Dumbría: Opening Paths in Equality is a campaign designed to inspire reflection, dialogue and collective action towards a fairer society. Under this motto, the council is launching several initiatives that highlight women’s voices, their history and the need for real equality every single day of the year.

Throughout March, 8M 2026 in Dumbría: Opening Paths in Equality will combine historical outreach, creative expression and symbolic actions that involve the whole community. It is an invitation to open new paths, acknowledge women from past and present and renew our shared commitment to equality.

  • Teatralízate: theatre workshop for women
Friday 27 February, at 4:40 pm. A workshop for mothers and women from the families of pupils at CEIP Plurilingüe Santa Eulalia de Dumbría. A safe, playful space to connect with other women, gain confidence and experiment with theatre as a tool for empowerment.
  • “Women in Antiquity” lecture series
A four-session cycle led by journalist and historian Nieves García Centeno, who has family roots in Buxantes. Sessions will take place on 7, 14, 21 and 28 March at 11:30 am in the Conco Municipal Facilities (Dumbría), exploring women’s roles in Ancient Egypt, Rome, Greece and the Celtic world and challenging long-standing stereotypes.
  • Distribution of commemorative openers
Handing out bottle openers featuring the “Opening Paths in Equality” campaign image at the municipal offices, while stocks last. They are produced by Íntegro, an association of people with functional diversity from the Costa da Morte, adding inclusion and social economy to this 8M celebration.
