The Christmas programme of Muxía Council will run from 12 December to 6 January, offering a full calendar of family activities: Christmas lights switch-on, Christmas market, children’s workshops, music, magic shows, visits from Santa and the traditional Three Kings Parade.
12/12 – Christmas lights switch-on (7:00 pm, Muxía harbour): children’s show Pequedisco Moc Moc with hot chocolate and fireworks.
19/12 – Opening of the Christmas market (5:00 pm, Sala Gervasio Sar): opening of the market, which will be held on 20, 21, 27 and 28 December, morning and afternoon; advance registration at the Council offices until 1 December.
19/12 – Santa visits the schools: visits to CEIP dos Muíños, CEIP Virxe da Barca, CEIP Vilarmide–Eduardo Noya and the Muxía nursery school.
20/12 – Christmas Gala (8:00 pm): concert by the polyphonic choir “Virxe da Barca” and the Abaladeiras de Muxía; admission 2 €.
20/12 – Trip to the ice rink in Vimianzo (departure 10:30 am): outing for children aged 6–13, with limited places and registration at the municipal gym (activity cost paid by participants).
21/12 – “Gingerbread House” workshop (11:00 am, Sala Gervasio Sar): creative activity for children aged 5 and over, lasting 2 hours, with limited places on a first-come, first-served basis.
23/12 – Visit to Santa’s House (from 6:00 pm, next to bar “O Xardín”): chance for the little ones to hand in their letters and take photos with Santa.
27/12 – “Letter to the Three Kings” workshop (11:00 am, Sala Gervasio Sar): children aged 5+ prepare their letters; 1-hour activity with limited places, registration by phone at the Council until 22 December.
28/12 – “Christmas cards” workshop (11:00 am, Sala Gervasio Sar): creative workshop to make Christmas cards for children aged 5+; 2-hour activity with limited places.
3/1 – “Rock’n Magic” show (6:00 pm, Volunteer Hall): magic show for all the family.
4/1 – Christmas social dance (7:00–10:00 pm, Sala Gervasio Sar): festive dance evening featuring a live performance by Claudia Zurita.
5/1 – Three Kings Parade: parade through the villages finishing in Muxía, where the Three Kings will meet the children in Sala Gervasio Sar, with bouncy castles and entertainment from 7:00 pm onwards.
