The municipality of A Laracha is located in the province of A Coruña, in the eastern part of the region of Bergantiños; It has an area of 126.3 km², where gentle mountains, valleys and beaches meet.
To the west it borders Carballo, to the east Arteixo and Culleredo, to the south with Cerceda and to the north with the sea in the port of Caión.
The AC-552 road crosses the entire municipality, including its capital, the town of A Laracha. The town is 2 km from A Coruña and 59 km from Santiago de Compostela.
The area stands out for its river walks, the beautiful beach of Caión with its Blue Path, the monastery of San Pedro de Soandres (10th century) and its hiking trails, where you can find curious vestiges both natural, where the Pedra da Cabirta, the largest abalar stone on the Costa da Morte, stands out. and historical, for example, the menhir of Erboedo. It is worth mentioning the high presence of forts in its territory, (that of Montes Claros is in the process of excavation) shows the rich historical past of these lands.
