The Furna do Sapo Viewpoint, located in the parish of Cereixo (Vimianzo) and very close to the border with Muxía, is one of the most spectacular yet lesser-known spots in Costa da Morte. Situated 80 meters above sea level, this viewpoint offers a breathtaking panoramic view over the mouth of the Río Grande —also known as Río Porto—, the Dor area (Ponte do Porto), the coastal villages of Camariñas and Muxía, and the entire Ría de Camariñas as it stretches into the Atlantic horizon.
Inaugurated on November 29, 2024, by the Concello de Vimianzo under the leadership of Mayor Mónica Rodríguez, the Mirador Furna do Sapo was created to highlight one of the most striking landscapes in the municipality. From this vantage point, visitors can clearly see the unique connection between the river, the sea, and the coastline —a perfect representation of the natural essence of Costa da Morte.
It is also considered one of the best spots to enjoy an unforgettable sunset in Costa da Morte. Its orientation, elevation, and expansive views make this viewpoint a must-visit for sunset lovers, photographers, hikers, or anyone seeking to disconnect and be moved by the raw beauty of the landscape. The Mirador Furna do Sapo is, without a doubt, one of the panoramic gems of Vimianzo and the entire Costa da Morte.
