The Costa da Morte Tourism Association (CMAT) has announced that Marta Lado, a renowned professional in the audiovisual sector and a strong advocate for the identity and sustainability of the region, will be awarded the title of “Costa da Morte Ambassador 2025.”
The recognition will be presented on Tuesday, November 11th, during the 5th Annual Costa da Morte Tourism Meeting, held at the Pazo de Villar de Francos (Carballo). This annual award honors individuals whose careers and commitment help promote the Costa da Morte both within and beyond Galicia.
A Career Committed to the Costa da Morte
Marta Lado, originally from Fisterra, is one of Galicia’s most prominent actresses and a passionate defender of the identity and beauty of the Costa da Morte, a region to which she remains deeply connected both personally and professionally.
A graduate in Dramatic Arts from the ESAD of Galicia, her film career took off with her starring role in “Sicixia,” directed by Ignacio Vilar, a tribute to the landscapes and culture of the Costa da Morte. For this performance, she received the Best Actress Award at the Cinespaña Festival in Toulouse, earning her recognition as one of Galicia’s leading voices in film.
In her own words, the Costa da Morte is “a place that has something indescribable, a force and beauty that captivate you.” That deep connection with the land is also reflected in her cultural and educational projects, which promote respect for nature, language, and local traditions.
Beyond her acting career, Marta has also led cultural and literary initiatives aimed at highlighting the authenticity and human richness of the region.
For these reasons, the CMAT Board of Directors has chosen her as the Costa da Morte Ambassador 2025, recognizing her dedication, sensitivity, and ability to showcase the unique spirit of this land to the world.
