The Costa da Morte Tourism Association (CMAT) held a new meeting during FITUR with Raquel Sánchez, president of the Paradores network, to discuss various issues related to the opening policy of the Costa da Morte Parador.
ZAS, 30/01/2025. The International Tourism Fair of Madrid (FITUR) 2025 served as the setting for a new meeting between CMAT and Raquel Sánchez, president of Paradores. In this friendly and constructive discussion, both parties exchanged views on the year-round opening of the Muxía Parador and accommodation availability policies.
The Muxía Parador, open all year round
For CMAT, which had already presented its proposals to Raquel Sánchez at both FITUR 2024 and the 4th Costa da Morte Tourism Meeting held in Vimianzo, it is essential that the Costa da Morte Parador, located in Muxía, remains open as much as possible throughout the year. This would help reduce seasonality in tourism, benefiting the entire sector not only in Muxía but across the Costa da Morte.
For her part, the president of the Paradores network, who has expressed her willingness to continue discussions with CMAT on this issue, is currently reviewing the proposals to provide a solution as soon as possible.
A policy that supports local tourism
Another proposal put forward by CMAT during FITUR is that when the Muxía Parador reaches full capacity, it should direct its clients to other accommodation options within the Costa da Morte region.
This measure would prevent guests from being redirected to other Paradores located outside Costa da Morte and even outside Galicia, which would otherwise harm the local hospitality sector.
CMAT appreciates the willingness of Raquel Sánchez, president of the Paradores network, to continue discussions and find the best solutions for tourism in the Costa da Morte.
