The parish of Carnés, in Vimianzo, will host from July 9 to 12 the much-anticipated San Cristovo Festivities 2025, officially declared a Festival of Tourist Interest. Over four vibrant days, the town will honor San Cristovo, San Benito and the Virxe do Carmen with a mix of religious ceremonies, live performances and community celebration.
Festivities kick off on Wednesday, July 9, with a sung mass and the traditional procession accompanied by the bagpipe group Trubisquiñas, followed by a callos tasting and open-air music by Euphoria Disco Móbil, Los Tamega and Los Satélites. Thursday, July 10, will be the main day honoring San Cristovo, with morning masses, procession, fireworks, and performances by Unión y Fuerza and the famous París de Noia.
The weekend continues with San Benito’s celebration on Friday and the Virxe do Carmen’s on Saturday. Friday will feature a vermouth session with Trío Alborada, El Combo Dominicano and CDC. On Saturday, July 12, don’t miss the only concert in Galicia by Medina Azahara, alongside shows from Nueva Fuerza, Tinciño, Martín Díaz and Mike Morato. The Festas de San Cristovo in Carnés are a true highlight of summer in Costa da Morte.
