Camariñas will hold a devotional celebration in honour of the Virgin of the Mount on Sunday, 6 September 2026, beginning with Mass at the hilltop chapel and followed by a procession down to the Chapel of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
The celebration starts at 5:00 pm at the Ermida da Virxe do Monte, in the Monte Farelo area, one of Camariñas’ most distinctive religious and scenic landmarks. The 18th-century sanctuary overlooks the estuary and forms part of the spiritual heritage of this seafaring town.
After Mass, the image of the Virgin of the Mount will be carried in procession down to the Capela do Carme, opposite the port of Camariñas. The route connects two places closely linked to local devotion and the town’s maritime identity.
An opportunity to experience the religious traditions of Camariñas through a celebration that brings together heritage, landscape and devotion on the Costa da Morte.
