Corcubión will host the first edition of the Medieval Mile, a recreational sporting event organised by Peña Deportivista Ave César and the Cantigas de Dona Xoana Association as part of the 24th Corcubión Medieval Market.
The race will take place on Wednesday, 22 July 2026, at 8:30 p.m. The start and finish line will be located in Castelao Square, and the route will run through the historic centre of Corcubión, officially designated a historic and artistic site in 1984.
The course will cover 1,540 metres, the average distance between the Roman mile and the statute mile. The route will pass landmarks including Pazo dos Altamira, the Church of San Marcos, Pazo dos Obregón, Campo do Rollo, the Pirate’s House and several historic houses and coats of arms.
Participation is completely free and limited to a maximum of 100 entrants. Places will be allocated in order of registration.
Race numbers can be collected near Castelao Square from 7:00 p.m. on the day of the event until fifteen minutes before the start. Food and drinks will be provided after the race and the prize-giving ceremony.
Registration will remain open until 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, 18 July through the registration form for the 1st Corcubión Medieval Mile.
