Malpica de Bergantiños marks the 93rd anniversary of the arrival of the Pedagogical Missions with a programme combining local history, culture and family-friendly entertainment. From 16 to 30 October 2026, the town celebrates the cultural initiative that brought theatre and learning to communities across Spain, including Malpica.
From 16 to 30 October, the exhibition area of the Malpica Civic Centre hosts a photography display exploring the legacy of the Pedagogical Missions. On 20 October 1933, the Retablo de Fantoches puppet theatre premiered in Malpica, becoming part of the town’s cultural history.
Head to Praza Anselmo Villar Amigo, opposite Casa da Santa, for an afternoon of activities:
In case of bad weather, the activities on 18 October will move to the Auditorium of the Malpica Civic Centre.
Join the community to discover a remarkable chapter in Malpica’s history and enjoy culture across generations. Organised by Malpica de Bergantiños Town Council with support from the Deputación da Coruña.
