Concello de Zas Chess Tournament 2026 in Baio

On Saturday, 10 October 2026, the Baio Municipal Sports Hall will host the Concello de Zas Chess Tournament 2026, a qualifying event for the 2026 A Coruña Intercomarcal Circuit. Players of different ages and levels will compete in an afternoon of rapid chess, with €1,000 in prizes plus trophies.

Tournament schedule

• Registration and presentation: 15:45.
• First round: 16:00.
• Closing ceremony: around 20:30.

Format and time control

The tournament will be played under a 7- or 8-round Swiss system, depending on the number of players. The time control is 10 minutes + 3 seconds increment per move.

Registration is open until Friday, 9 October via Clúber or by bank transfer to CaixaBank account ES15 2100 5097 2002 0012 6301, including full name, club and tournament registration in the payment reference.

Prizes

The tournament offers €1,000 in prizes plus trophies. General classification prizes are: 1st €150 + trophy; 2nd €130 + trophy; 3rd €110 + trophy; 4th €100; 5th €85; 6th €70; 7th €60; 8th €50; 9th €40; and 10th €30.

Special and local prizes

There will be €25 prizes for the top player in the under-2000, under-1700, veteran (+55), women’s and under-18 categories. Trophies will also be awarded to the top under-16, under-14, under-12, under-10 and under-8 players.

Local players will receive €25 + trophy for 1st place, €15 + trophy for 2nd place and €10 + trophy for 3rd place.

There will also be a draw for a Frutas Fondo fruit basket and a book among players who do not receive another prize. Attendance at the closing ceremony is mandatory to collect prizes. Prizes are not cumulative and will be distributed strictly according to final ranking.
