On Saturday 10 October, the Fonte e Lavadoiro da Areosa will become a small stage for living memory. At 11:30 am, the Women of Vilaño present A Journey Through Time, a short theatrical performance that brings back scenes, voices and gestures connected with the parish’s traditional communal washing places.
For around 15 minutes, the sound of running water will once again mingle with stories, anecdotes, songs and conversations, recalling how these places were much more than working spaces: they were also meeting points where memories and local knowledge were shared.
The performance is part of the first edition of FITVI · Vilaño International Puppet Festival, Entre Verzas e Monicreques, an event that brings together performing arts, rural heritage and community participation across several locations in Vilaño.
A warm, intimate morning invitation to listen to the memory of the place and see how theatre can give new life to the everyday stories of a community.
Organised by: Adro de Vilaño. With the support of: Concello da Laracha and Deputación da Coruña.
