Muiñada de Vimianzo 2026 once again turns the historic mills of the Vimianzo valley into a meeting point for Galician music, tradition and popular culture. One of this edition’s highlights is Do Rivés, a group rooted in the Costa da Morte that will bring its debut album, «Contrabando», to Vimianzo.
Do Rivés approaches Galician traditional music from a contemporary perspective while remaining closely connected to oral transmission. Voices, tambourines and hand percussion shape a live performance in which the identity of the Costa da Morte can be heard in the rhythms, singing styles and a collective way of experiencing music.
«Contrabando» is the group’s first album, and this will be their first performance in Vimianzo. The setting fits naturally with the spirit of the Muiñada, a celebration that reconnects music with the places, encounters and memories that have shaped local culture.
Muiñada de Vimianzo takes place on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 October 2026 around the historic mills of the Vimianzo valley. Do Rivés are scheduled to perform on Saturday 17 October.
The festival brings traditional music and dance into a distinctive cultural landscape historically linked to watermills and to the old muiñadas: communal gatherings around milling where conversation, singing and dancing were part of the experience.
