Baldaio celebrates the 26th Festa do Berberecho on Saturday, 22 August 2026, bringing together seafood, live music and the atmosphere of a traditional Galician summer festival. The event takes place at the A Imende-Noicela sports court in Carballo, with cockle tastings from 12:30 pm and entertainment continuing into the night.
Throughout the afternoon, visitors can taste cockles steamed, served in sauce or baked into a Galician empanada. Each preparation offers a different way to enjoy this shellfish: steaming keeps the focus on its texture and sea-fresh character, while sauce adds richness and empanada places it firmly within Galicia’s popular culinary tradition.
A large marquee will be set up for the festival and free parking will be available, making it easy to spend the day enjoying this 26th edition of one of Baldaio’s established summer celebrations.
The Festa do Berberecho de Baldaio combines seafood, popular cooking and live entertainment in a relaxed community celebration that moves naturally from the tasting tables to music and dancing. The event is organised by A.D.C.R. Baldaio with the collaboration of the Concello de Carballo.
