The village of Pasarela, in Vimianzo, will celebrate Galician Literature Day 2026 with a festive and cultural event dedicated to Begoña Caamaño. The celebration will take place on Saturday, 16 May, from 4:30 p.m., with a programme full of music, dance, theatre, humour and activities designed to bring the community together around the Galician language.
The programme includes performances for all audiences, featuring the Airiños do Río Grande dance group, the Abrindo Rejo bagpipe group, Irma Macías and Luis Pinto, theatre by Tete de Salto, comedy monologues by Mortos de Risa, theatre by O Club das Letras, Pasarela Big Band and Suso Andrea. There will also be an exhibition of old photographs and a children’s workshop, making this celebration an open and participatory event for local residents and visitors.
As usual, the Galician Literature Day celebration in Pasarela will also include pinchos, creating a warm atmosphere to enjoy culture, local memory and pride in the Galician language. The event is organised by the Pasarela Residents’ Association, with the collaboration of the Concello de Vimianzo.
