The parish of Bamiro, in the municipality of Vimianzo, will once again celebrate one of its most special dates in May with the Our Lady of Montetorán Festival 2026. This is one of those traditional local festivities that keep the rural spirit of the Costa da Morte alive, bringing together neighbours, families and visitors around music, devotion and the festive atmosphere that makes these celebrations so memorable.
The programme will begin on Tuesday, May 12, with masses at 10:00, 11:00 and 12:00, as well as the solemn mass at 13:00. In the evening, the image will be carried up at 20:00, followed by the novena at 20:30. Afterwards, the celebration will continue in a more relaxed way with a vermouth session with bagpipers and music from Dúo Élite, adding a festive touch to this first big day in Bamiro.
The festival will continue on Friday, May 15 with a night made for enjoying the traditional celebration atmosphere. From 22:00, the open-air dance will begin with Chema e Élite, followed by the performance of Gran Parada Orchestra and the CDC mobile disco. There will also be a covered marquee, making the Our Lady of Montetorán Festival in Bamiro an even more appealing plan for anyone wishing to experience the spirit of a classic village festival in Galicia.
