May Month of Galician Letters in Dumbría

The May Month of Galician Letters in Dumbría offers a cultural programme designed to celebrate the Galician language, reading, traditional music and local participation. Over several dates, the Concello de Dumbría will host activities for different audiences, including storytelling, workshops, a walking route and a special event linked to the Día das Letras Galegas.

The programme brings together literary activities from Ler Conta Moito, children’s and youth workshops, a walk along the Albarellos river and a closing event with traditional music. It is a lovely way to enjoy culture in May, discover different places in the municipality and experience Galician letters in a close, participatory and meaningful way.

• Thursday, 14 May: Marisa Irimia presents the storytelling session “Begoña Caamaño: voces de sal e de herba”, as part of the Ler Conta Moito programme. It will take place at the Ézaro Library at 6:30 pm.
• Sunday, 17 May: Walk along the Albarellos river, a circular route starting from Berdeogas. Departure will be at 9:30 am and prior registration is required at https://forms.gle/gBaXjYZDPEQTEiaM9.
• Monday, 18 May: Children’s/youth workshop “Gravado con Begoña Caamaño”, as part of the Ler Conta Moito programme. It will be held at the Conco Library at 6:30 pm.
• Sunday, 31 May: Galician Letters event with traditional music and closing session of the schools of Asociación A Fonte Santa – Gaiteiros de Buxantes. It will take place at the Casa da Cultura de Olveira at 5:00 pm.
