On Sunday, September 7th, 2025, the town of Camariñas will celebrate one of its most heartfelt traditions: the Descent of the Virgin of the Mount. The ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m., after the mass held at the Chapel of the Mount. From there, the Virgin’s image will be carried in procession from Monte Farelo down to the Parish Church of San Jorge.
This deeply emotional procession is a powerful symbol of faith and maritime heritage in Camariñas. Each year, locals, visitors, and devotees accompany the Virgin, protector of sailors, in an event that embodies unity and devotion.
The Descent of the Virgin of the Mount in Camariñas 2025 is not just a religious celebration, but also a cultural tradition that reflects the spirit and identity of the Costa da Morte.
