On Monday, August 25, 2025, the Zas Town Council will host “A Glimpse of the Sky from the Past”, an astronomical observation led by renowned science communicator Jorge Mira. The event will begin at 10:00 p.m. at the Church of Santa Sía de Roma, from where participants will take a 2 km walk to the Arca da Piosa dolmen, one of the area’s most iconic megalithic monuments.
During the activity, attendees will observe the night sky and learn to identify its most notable stars and constellations, guided by Jorge Mira’s explanations. The walk is of low difficulty and suitable for all ages.
Participants are advised to bring warm clothing, a flashlight, and a blanket for greater comfort during the observation. The event is free, but prior registration is required via this form or by calling 981 718 056. This activity blends nature, science, and heritage within the framework of the Costa da Morte Starlight Tourist Destination.
