This summer, Carnota is best discovered step by step. The Concello de Carnota is running a programme of guided routes throughout July and August 2026, inviting residents and visitors to explore the municipality through its landscapes, archaeology, traditional architecture and coastal heritage. The schedule combines walks in Lira, ascents of Monte do Pindo, evening visits to rock-art sites and audio-guided experiences in O Pindo.
These are more than simple walks. Each route offers context for understanding how the sea, granite landscape, settlement patterns and archaeological heritage have shaped one of the most distinctive cultural landscapes on the Costa da Morte.
The programme connects several of Carnota’s defining places and stories. The ascent to A Moa leads into the granite landscape of Monte do Pindo; the routes through Lira focus on local heritage and its close relationship with the sea; and the visits to As Laxiñas and A Laxe Escrita introduce participants to Carnota’s rock-art heritage in the evocative atmosphere of nightfall.
The schedule also includes audio-guided visits around O Pindo, offering a flexible way to discover the history and identity of this fishing village.
Places are limited and advance booking is required through the registration form.
The price is €3 per person. Payment should be made to the Concello de Carnota bank account ES84 2080 0334 8731 1000 0035, stating the participant’s name and chosen route. The exception is the audio-guided visit around O Pindo, which is paid in cash at the Confraría do Pindo at the start of the route.
Registration and payment must be completed before 11:00 am on the day before each route. For updated meeting points or programme changes, visitors should check the official Carnota tourism website.
From 8 July to 26 August 2026, at various locations across the municipality of Carnota.
