Find out more about Gures coastal cave

The Gures coastal cave is a fascinating sea cave located in the southern part of Gures Beach. The word “furna” in Galician refers to cavities or grottos formed by the erosion of the sea, and the Gures coastal cave is one of the most impressive examples of this region.

This cave was formed over centuries, due to the constant impact of the waves against the coast, which sculpted the rock to create an opening that connects the interior of the earth with the sea.

During high tide, waves fill the cave, generating a spectacle of sound and movement as the water crashes against the rocky walls, creating echoes and sea mists that intensify its mysterious atmosphere.

During low tide, it is possible to enter the furna, explore its cavities and observe closely the textures and rock formations that time has shaped. It is important to know that for this it is necessary to know the tides and be cautious. The Furna de Gures is also a place shrouded in local legends and myths. According to some stories, it was said that supernatural beings lived inside. Although these stories belong to Galician folklore, the sense of mystery and the untamed nature of the furna make it a place full of symbolism and magic for those who know it.
