The 17ª edition of ” Volta Ciclista” to the Province of A Coruña begins in Ponteceso

The city councils of Ponteceso, Curtis and Affection will be this year the central headquarters of the 17ª edition of the Gone back Cyclist to the Province of A Coruña, that will contest between the days 1 and 3 June and will have the participation of more than a hundred of cyclists of the categories Elite and Sub-23, in which they forge the new promises of this sportive discipline before arriving to the professional field.

The sportive event was presented the Saturday happened on the beach of Balarés (Ponteceso) during an act that had the assistance of the deputy of Sports, José García Liñares, the mayor of Ponteceso, Lois García Carballido, the mayor of Dumbría and provincial deputy, José Manuel Small, the councillor pontecesán of Sports, Marco Varela, the president of the Galician Federation of Cycling, Juan Carlos Muñiz, the exciclista Ezequiel Mosquera, the technical director of the proof, Guillermo Cure, the mayor of Affection, José Miguel Alonso Pumar, the lieutenant of the Civil Guard José Manuel Meléndez and the sportive journalist of the Galician Radio Andrés Vieites, that commissioned to drive the act.

The mayors of Ponteceso and Affection appreciated to the Deputation that had chosen his places, together with Curtis, like central headquarters of the Turn to the Province and underlined the support to the cycling by part of the deputies of Sports and Roads and Works of the Deputation, that allowed that the province received stages of the Gone back Cyclist to Spain and have under way ambitious projects of promotion of the cycling like the Network Metropolitan Cyclist of A Coruña or the Green Road Santiago-Cerceda.

In this 17ª edition of the Turn will participate a total of 17 teams of Asturias, Tenerife, Madrid, Extremadura, Cantabria, Castilla-León, Galicia and Portugal. The proof will begin on 1 June in Ponteceso, with a route of 150 kilometres that will go through A Campara, Pazos, To Bugalleira, Knit, Neaño, Cesullas, Allo, Baio, Zas, the high of Saint Roque, Santa Comba, Slope of the Valley, Paxareiras, The Pindo, The Ézaro (with rise to the oriel), Hospital, Dumbría, Vimianzo and return to Ponteceso.
